what can hypnosis do for me?
The short answer is a lot! But I don’t expect you to just take my word for it. So let me first explain what hypnosis is and does.
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a process of putting you into a relaxed state of mind, so that suggestions can be placed directly in your subconscious to allow you to make wanted change in your life more easily.
Are you going to make me cluck like a chicken?
Absolutely not! What you are referring to is stage hypnosis. Getting people to act silly as part of a stage hypnosis program is not what I do, nor could I get you to do it, unless you were absolutely WILLING to. A stage hypnotist whittles down the crowd in order to choose a “volunteer” who is willing and wanting to act silly. The reason they don’t pick just anyone out as a volunteer is that those unwilling would not be successfully hypnotized to act silly.
So, if you won’t make me act silly, what will you do?
I will have a consultation with you first to get down exactly what changes you want to make in your life and how you want that to look IN YOUR OWN WORDS. I will then use your words in a custom hypnosis script created just for you so that your brain will accept the suggestions and make them real in your life.
How does that happen exactly? I’ve been telling myself I wanted to change this for years.
Science has found that 95% or more of your life is actually controlled by your subconscious mind. Not only that, but most of the “programming” that is running your life was imprinted there by the time you were 7 years old. That means you are likely going along on autopilot with the wisdom and experience of a 7-year-old 95% of the time. In order to make real lasting change, you need to get to the subconscious mind and replace that old programming with something more appropriate for where you are today. Hypnosis gently puts your conscious mind aside, so your subconscious can relearn how to handle the things you want to change in your life.
Wow, I’m 95% on autopilot?
Yes, you are. And it’s not a bad thing. You encounter millions of stimulus and decision points every day. You couldn’t possibly have the time or energy to deal with them all. So, your subconscious jumps in and says “I got this” so you can focus on what is most important. It is incredibly efficient at it too, all while keeping your lungs breathing, heart beating and all of your other body processes going. The trouble is when the subconscious learns unhealthy patterns from traumatic situations or holds on to outdated programming from childhood. This is why hypnosis is such a powerful tool.
