A bit about me

I was born in 1976, the 2nd child of an African-American mother and a Caucasian father.  This was back when you had to check the "other" box next to race on forms and when you'd get funny looks when you were out places with your parents.

My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 32. I was just six years old.  I took on the role of helper in the family, taking care of my younger siblings and helping with the cooking and cleaning around the house.  My mother went into remission, but her cancer came back.  She was given the diagnosis of bone cancer when I was 13 years old.

I struggled with the grief of watching my mother deteriorate while maintaining my grades in school and keeping the household in order.  My mom passed away my junior year of high school.  Externally, I managed to keep it all together, graduating high school and earning a full scholarship to the University of Texas at Austin.

Inside I was a mess.  I went off to college, maintained a 3.0 GPA and became addicted to cocaine to numb my pain.  At the end of my first year of college, I finished my exams, celebrated my 19th birthday and woke up with the paramedics coming through my door, I had overdosed.

This was a wake-up call.  I had to get myself together, but how?

I wish I could say the heavens opened and my problems were immediately solved, but they weren’t.  I did, however, have the courage to finally end the abusive relationship I had been in for 3 years and start the journey to getting my life together.

I met the man that would become my first husband and he helped me see my own worth and that I had too much to live for to throw my life away.  In some ways, he was my own “coach” of sorts - before it was a thing.

I got clean, started my career in Information Technology, and had an excellent 5-year run before the dot-com bubble burst in 2001.  With no tech jobs to be found, I ended up in the retail automotive industry. Here, I discovered that I enjoyed working with people and had a knack for listening and finding solutions to problems, whether they be business, financial, or personal.

My 17+ years in the car business provided me the opportunity to succeed in a variety of roles. It also funded the completion of my Bachelor's degree and MBA. However, at my core, I knew something was missing.

In late 2016, my third marriage ended, and I started to question the purpose of my life.  Assuredly, it couldn’t be alternating between good and bad life situations, paying the bills, and taking trips.  So, I started reading every self-improvement book that called to me (over 100), working on personal growth and healing, and getting reconnected with God.  It was like a 2nd full-time job.  Through this work, I started to feel better and better.  I prayed for God to show me the purpose of my life.  While meditating on December 31, 2018, the answer came to me in a vivid vision.

My purpose is to be a catalyst for creating a world full of people who know their self-worth and feel connected to their higher power and each other.  I'm helping to create a world where people are living their life purposes and feel fulfilled.

Helping facilitate this vision is my calling and my WHY!   Coaching, Hypnotherapy, and Breathwork are my tools.  I would be honored to help YOU on your journey to wholeness and transformation!
